Non-Discrimination Policy
St. Isaac Jogues Classical Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin either in admissions, administration of educational policies, or any school administered programs.
Admission of Students Who Are Not Catholic
Students who are not Catholic may be admitted to the school with the explicit understanding that all students must participate in all activities in the school including classes of Religion and Theology. The entire curriculum is permeated with Catholic philosophy. Prayer and daily Catholic devotion are an integral part of the school’s day. All students are required to participate in these Catholic cultural and liturgical activities. Students will attend mass with the whole school community, attend respectfully, and participate as appropriate.
Full Time Student Requirement
Our school only accepts full-time students. A full-time student is defined as a student that is present at the school during normal hours of operation, and takes the required load of courses for their grade level and participates in all school activities.
Admissions Process
1. Application and Supporting Materials
Potential candidates are required to submit an application, a letter of recommendation from a priest or previous teacher, and their child(ren)’s latest report cards. Since Classical Christian education is so different from modern public education, transfer students may have areas they need to address to transition smoothly into our classes.
2. Academic Assessment
Students may be asked to take some academic assessment to measure their current level of learning, help determine where best to place them at Isaac Jogues, and identify any areas that might need to be addressed to help them be as successful as possible.
3. Family Interview
Some schools interview only the prospective student; here at St. Isaac Jogues, we interview the whole family. This gives us an opportunity to get the know both the student and family and focus on whether or not our school and its vision is a fit for the entire family. Since Classical Catholic education has some unique aspects and our school's vision is central to life at the school, it is important that families and students understand them and what they look like at our school.
All students will be notified within a timely manner following the interview whether their child(ren) will be accepted for admission. If there is a known prior concern or problem that would affect the child’s performance in the classroom setting {and it is not disclosed prior to admission}, it could be reason for the removal of the child from the school and termination of tuition contract. If this were to occur, the family would not be responsible for any further tuition payments. The school would refund any payment made beyond the last day of the month in which the child attended.
All pre-admission paperwork must be turned in with a non-refundable $200.00 deposit within one month of acceptance or May 1st {whichever is later} for the upcoming school year.
